• ScottishPower’s independent environmental consultants will be continuing their EIA work for several months, also seismic investigations may be undertaken later this year.
  • The findings of the EIA process will be reported in an Environmental Statement which will be a public document.
  • The Environmental Statement will be submitted with the application for approval to build and operate the proposed development, as required by legislation.
  • Approval will be sought either via the Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) 1990 or under the Gas Act 1965.
  • If ScottishPower uses the TCPA route, it expects to make an application for planning permission and hazardous substances consent for the development and storage of gas in June 2009.
  • If a planning application is made it is anticipated that it will be made in June 2009.
  • ScottishPower is committed to open and honest dialogue with local residents and other interested parties and where possible, these views will be taken into account in the proposal.
  • If you have any comments please speak to a ScottishPower representative, fill in a questionnaire or email your comments to scottishpower@tascomms.co.uk.
